Netflix Streaming Coming to the Sony Playstation 3 [Streaming Video]
Netflix keeps finding its way onto devices you’ve already got in your living room. It’s already nicely integrated with your and , but starting next month it’ll also be available to nine million Playstation 3 owners.
The Ṕ implementation of Netflix is not the most elegant. Ṕ owners will have to order a special, free disc from Netflix and pop it into their gaming console whenever they want to access the Netflix queue and watch a movie. Sony and Netflix seem to suggest this is a short-term solution, until an upgrade next year in the Ṕ software.
While the disc swapping does seem like a bit of a hassle, at least Sony and Netflix are hurrying to release the new functionality—it’s great news for PS3 owners with a Netflix subscription. []
